Since age of six, I knew I had a creative gift. But it took me almost 2 decades before I came to understand I had a prophetic gift and acknowledge that the Lord wanted to use it.
I remained puzzled until I had one supernatural encounter with prophetic art. A few weeks before this supernatural encounter, my pastor laid hands on me and prayed: “Arise as a prophet in this generation!”
Prophet? Me?
You must be joking! 😂
A few weeks later, at a worship event at my church, I was enthralled by the level of anointing that a new keyboardist, Alex* was playing with.
“Go down to the altar, sit beside him and worship,” that small still voice said to me.
“But I don’t want to draw attention to mys_”
“I said GO”
A shyly made my way to the altar and sat on the floor beside Alex and worshiped. Somehow, the presence of God felt more tangible there.
Suddenly, the Lord showed me a vision of music sheets spiraling up into the air like a tornado going up to heaven to God. I saw and heard a plethora of instruments, which played indescribably glorious music. The Lord showed me that He wants to use Alex as a skilled composer and musician for the kingdom.
After the service I prophesied to Alex and he was stunned. I did not know this guy. I did not know he played multiple instruments besides the keyboard. I did not know he had started music school a few weeks prior to our conversation.
The Lord used this powerful imagery to confirm this young man’s great musical calling. The Lord then instructed me to illustrate this vision as best as I could, and gift it to him.
I am happy to say that two years later, he has written many musical compositions and has had the opportunity of playing at many important national functions. He is a true embodiment of Proverbs 18:16 :
“A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.“
